Since I’m obviously not going to be winning the political correctness sweepstakes any time soon, I might as well post this picture of the gun-shaped vibrator:
Now that’s an object fraught with enough symbolism to fuel two whole weeks of heated discussion in a Women’s Studies classroom near you.

It looks like it has a functioning trigger. That’s pretty scary. But, just think of the new film genre: Spaghetti Porno. Lesbian gunslingers with mean, snakelike eyes and jingling spurs prowl the streets for gunfights and unescorted women with parasols, or “shoot up” saloons. The trouble is that a “quick draw” doesn’t score any points in itself.. you also have to ram your gun up someone’s cooch and get ’em off to the point of collapse before you can say you won. And that would just wear a girl’s arm right out, to say nothing of her poor trigger-finger. FORGET robbing banks!
Remember the scene in The Stand where the Trashcan Man was raped with a gun? *shudder*
Does this remind anyone else of that “Make Love, Not War!” slogan? One could consider it a modern and symbolic version of beating swords into ploughshares… ;)
Well… very politically incorrect… but – it seems ergonomically friendly to getting some fun ‘help’….
I love it because it’s so very “Even Cowgirls Get the Blues.” I bought one at Toys in Babeland when I visited Seattle (because we would never, ever carry it at Good Vibes). It’s got a nice strong buzz, the trigger is the on/off switch and the dial where you’d “cock” the gun is tha variable speed to increase/decrease intensity. Jodie is right; it’s quite ergonomic, and excellent for partner play. Yee-haw!
There is only so much imagery and the resulting inference that we have to be bothered with. Really, so what? I gun, a vibrator, does that mean that you will be raped by the vibrator, shot by the gun, and left for dead. Hardly. The impression that many people draw from any imagery is so laden with such over amplification of overworked stereotypes (hype) that it is downright boring in the end. We should realize that there is so much more need to engage in the positive side of life’s choices and challenges. Guns and vibrators cannot save the human race, and they certainly will not destroy it.
so what does one cost? Talk about bang for the buck.

The very fact that a sex toy can launch a conversation about traditional roles/objectification/etcetera has got to be a positive sign for humanity, right?

On the one hand it is a gun, so it must be good, but on the other hand it is a vibrator which can be used to give sexual pleasure outside of marriage and without the purpose of procreation, so it must be bad.
