"Trouble is, he didn't say what they're capable of."

And how, dear Aphrodite, am I supposed to know what your hands are capable of? Hmmm?

You know, "I've been bummed" means something quite different to speakers of British English!

Well, I'm big and variably self-confident guy, but I'm only 26 years old and girls are so scary...

That and database designers who may be more competent than me at database design are kind of intimidating. And completely anonymous people statistically likely to be on a completely different coast can also be a problem.

Definite yes on the exploring sexually part, though. Some highlightable quotes from recent explorations:

"Oh wow, there's a bone in there!"
"I never knew some girls shaved their bottoms too!"
"You really think I have enormous balls?"
"Well obviously I'm really, really scared..."

I think Lilith nailed it -- no games was fine, but telling the wifey about it was too much.

John, I don't want a clingy guy -- a big, self-confident guy who likes to explore sexually will do. Age, hair color, ethnicity, all that stuff of much less concern.

Does your mommy say that you fit the bill? ;)

i can't understand this. i've had a few (limited) experience with married guys, and it seems like your straight-up, no-games approach is exactly what most of them (claim to) fantasize about. why would that scare him off? i guess i still don't understand men....

Of course he ran off when she said she didn't have a problem with seeing a married guy as long as there weren't going to be games & secrets! If a married man can't keep his girlfriend segregated from his wife (or maybe even keep the girlfriend a secret entirely!), the girls might like each other more than they like him. It's an insecurity thing (or possibly a cheating thing!), which doesn't surprise me at all.

It sounds to me like Aphi needs a big desperate clingly guy who's absolutely desperate for female companionship.

I'm not saying I'm that kind of a guy, I'd need to check with my mommy first.
