What if the culture was all about sex and you did it just because it was cool .. not because you immediately needed it? I think it would hurt not being able to look your parents in the eyes. I don't wanna be a prude but I think it is so nice when people can get "interested" in sex naturally on their own time and not feel compelled to do it before they are actually ready to give up their innocence. But to be fair, there has been a major downturn in crime that appears to be driven by pure demographics. Younger people commit more crime. Population bulges work through the years there are more, or less, younger people. So the question is not 'has crime/whatever you care about gone down?' but has it gone down as much as it should have given demographics.
