Maybe some of these could be from an outlet where Victorian English girls could get 'naughty' pictures taken of themselves, maybe make a bit of money and know they'd not be recognized in the exotic garb? I've seen contemporary postcards in Hawaii showing topless wahinis against the sands, available in every souvenier stand in Waikiki.
