That “naked(ish) woman surrounded by arrows” pinged something in the back of my brain.

I’m 36 (male). The earliest erotic dream I can recall was when I was 10 while (get this) at a Christian sponsored summer camp.

I remember it because (1) it was probably my first erotic dream, and (2) as erotic dreams goes it was kinda kinky.

The dream: me and the boys in my 6-bed room were throwing darts around a naked woman who was tied to a large archery target.

Sidebar: I recall I also had a crush on one of the female camp leaders (but she was not in the dream) and we did do archery as an activity.

Interestingly, just recently I passed by an print-art shop and in the window was a poster of a naked woman who was tied to a large archery target with arrows around her.

Now this makes me wonder.

Why does this theme of a woman, bound naked and vulnerable to piercing projectiles, seem to resonate in the minds of males like me? Is it a manifestation of the multitude of sperm flying towards, and penetrating, the ova? Is it the body of the woman waiting to be penetrated by the penis.

I’m sure there’s a psycho-erotic-analyst out there who can talk to this topic. Please do, I think this is interesting. Does anyone else have any other theories?
