One thing nobody has pointed out – you get tabs in IE 7, not six. So not only is the original commenter illiterate, hypocritical and narrow-minded, they’re also a luddite.

And, for the record, I too like the heart. I like its lovely yellow centre and red outline. Red (as in flowers) is for lust, yellow is for love. So the colours work. I also like the hand-drawn quality of it, it reflects the mostly amateur, slightly underground vibe of ErosBlog.

And Bacchus, we love you even if you are a sex maniac!

other than the obvious craziness that person spewed about this only being about sex and never about love or anything having to do with love, since when to penises and breasts only mean sex?

Well to be precise, the heart was originally a fertility symbol, albeit turned upside down, which represented the female buttocks, which was of course the view most commonly seen by the ancients who practiced primarily rear entry. So the heart in its purest form denotes intercourse … which always makes me chuckle when I see bumperstickers that say I heart my poodle.

The comment was especially amusing to me as I have a tattoo depicting a small heart with a large arrow pointing toward the heart’s “cleavage.” For my partner and I, it signifies hearts and love, but also is a private tribute to our love of ass-fucking. (upside down heart also resembles tushie.)

Of course, during disagreements, it also signifies pain in ass ;) It’s SO versatile!

I like the heart.

I like it yellow. It’s a happy colour, which ties in well with the positive attitude of the site.

It’s simple and easily recognisable, cute and quirky in its asymmetry.

If it aint broke, don’t fix it.

(I’m also slightly scared by the vehemence of the original commenter, but maybe they were just having a bad day and needed a hug.)
