After indecisively shopping around on the internet looking for a properly interesting vibrator (it was to be my first, and I wanted my money's worth, damnit) I finally decided that the financial sacrifice of the Phantasy Sinnflut would be worth it.
Oh, it was.
Having never tried a regular-battery-powered vibrator, I can't make any quantitative comparison, but this thing is strong. I definitely didn't want something with a cord--when you live in a dorm room, you really don't want a sex toy plugged in in the middle of the room. So I chose the Sinnflut, and it really does go. Plenty of power there, and no cord. Fantastic!
It certainly is an investment, they don't come cheaply. But honestly, I'd rather just save up for something really good and spend my money well than get something that I'm not really satisfied with and needs new batteries all the time.

If Wild In Secret (where I linked, of course, because they sent me the review unit that impressed me so) is out of stock, The Stockroom has similar models (<a href="http://www.stockroom.com/Reality-Rechargeable-Vibe-Black-P2463.aspx?ref=840050" rel="nofollow">Reality</a> and <a href="http://www.stockroom.com/Intensity-Rechargeable-Vibe-P2514.aspx?ref=840050" rel="nofollow">Intensity</a>) from the same manufacturer.

Susie, as always, is absolutely correct. Batteries are a waste of my time.

However, there is something better than an electric powered vibrator - an electric powered Eroscillator. No more numb clit syndrome!

Read the review on my site if you want more details.

Re: Sinnflut....

Okay, I want one. I haven't tried rechargeable vibes in a while, and when I did, they were like those shitty cell phones that don't even last thru the call. But when you compare this one to the items in my partners tool shed, I'm properly impressed.

Definitely no "try-out rooms" in Prudish old Britain. Not around here anyway!

It was mildly exciting when I went into a large, quite commercial shop in Amsterdam, and had the pretty sales lady demonstrate a few vibrators on my hand. She had very soft skin.

I'm saving up for a decent high-powered vibe. My current method involves keeping a bunch of brand new batteries very close to hand, because there's no worse feeling in the world than a vibrator that's getting tired just when you want that little bit more!

I'll just say I've had both battery operated and one requiring electrical current and I agree with Suzie, nothing compares with some serious wattage.

I also noticed something in her piece that caught my eye - "try out room"? Granted, I usually buy my toys on-line, but I don't remember seeing a "try out room" the last time I went into my local sex toy shop. I'll have to look a little more carefully next time. How fun is that?
