The problem for marketing blogs being, that it's very hard to make marketing prose interesting.  So the choices are (1) blog about something else and just sort of sneak tiny bits of marketing in when nobody is watching, or (2) do the difficult by making your marketing prose interesting.  I've never seen anybody who could do #2 consistently, so the best strategy IMO is to do as much #2 as you can and then use strategy #1 as your daily filler.</description>

This actually makes me think about some answers I gave to a question on a recent polyweekly, about how to "score Hot Bi Babes." The answer, as best I can come up with, is basically what you wrote: be yourself, don't go trolling for them, and if you're interesting, they will come. If you try to force it, well...you're out of luck.

That's not a very good way to put the idea...I'm going to have to think about it more coherently. But there's a parallel there, I'm sure.</description>

		<description>Not being born yesterday, I have come to realize something over the years, and that's that the world can be divided into two kinds of people. First, there are the creative people such as writers, musicians, clothing designers, actors, painters, sculptors, furniture designers, jewelers, web designers, etc. (I call them the "Elvises" of the world), who really enjoy creating a product, a poem, a song, or what-have-you, first and foremost, and then there are those who are too lazy to develope their talent or learn a craft, and spend their time looking for ways to take advantage of the talents and skills of others (I call them the "Colonel (Tom) Parkers" of the world), who for the most part are often all too generous with their products or services. At best, the "Colonels" seem to think that since artists seem to enjoy writing/singing/playing the guitar/taking photographs/using photoshop/making paintings, sculpture, jewelry or whatever, it's not really work, and therefore they don't need to be paid. Or, at worst, they know that most creative people are driven to create, and will do it anyway, even if they are starving, so why not exploit them. Some resort to out and out theft of a created product and these people would take candy from a baby if they could sell it at a profit. I'll try to cut this rant short at this point, but Bacchus, when you pointed out that you seemed to be expected to give away your EXTREMELY valuable knowledge without so much as a consulting fee, it touched a nerve. I hope you eventually get SOME sort of well-deserved compensation. Obviously, you are a true artist!</description>
