The “Apple Knockers and a Coke” film with Arlene Hunter has been released on DVD.

[Bacchus continues: And is available on Amazon, according to the link that I deleted from this comment. I appreciate the help, but I'm loathe to give Amazon free business. The deleted link was to a film called "The Wild, Wild World of Jayne Mansfield / The Labyrinth of Sex" from Something Weird video with a 1968 date on it -- you can search it up. It's unclear how useful that will be; the cover art and product info do not mention the "apple knockers" clip at all. Here are some excerpts from the Amazon reader reviews:

"Finally we have The Apple Knockers and the Coke. This is a silent striptease short staring Marilyn Monroe. A fake apple tree, a bottle of coke and Marilyn's attributes star in this multi-part short."

Not so fast, Trent.

First, my gut tells me it is fake, just because I want to believe it. That’s why I introduced the story with skepticism.

But second, the link you provide leads to an alleged, self-styled “debunking” that is no such thing. Basically what Defamer has is some knowledgeable people going “we don’t believe this, there’s no real evidence, the story is too neat, and it comes from an unreliable guy with a Marilyn book to sell.” Which I admit makes for a pretty parcel of skepticism. But they don’t actually have any positive evidence that the alleged film is a fake. This is kind of like some of the weaker entries on Snopes, that cry “Urban Legend” in the title but unpack to “we really just don’t believe this one.”

One very useful aspect of the Defamer “debunking” is that it better identifies the “common” fake Marilyn movie that was known to exist — see comment #5, above, by “D”. It’s The Apple, Knockers, and the Coke Bottle by Arline Hunter, and, yeah, if I get my paws on a copy, I’ll share, screenshots at least and the full loop (almost certainly originally a 12-minute 8mm job) if I can.

There was an obscure actress, Aileen or Arlene Something-or-other, who was a Marilyn look-alike who allegedly did some hardcore stuff, and this may have been what Dr. Whiplash saw. There are also rumors about a Joan Crawford film (unconfirmed), and there are films purportedly involving Barbra Streisand and Chuck Connors (both unverified, as the footage is of too poor a quality).
