That's the territory for the bride and her mother. People attend weddings for the reception -- the get drunk, try to get lucky with a stranger, the food and booze is someone else's dime reception. And the only entrance fee is to show up and bring a gift. If there was that kind of party thrown for the arrival of new borns, then old college room mates would show up for that too. People are not enamored with the ceremony. That’s the territory for the bride and her mother.
