I hope I'm not boring your readers via belaboring this issue (which I suspect is mostly semantic), but with yet even further musing (hindsight being more 20/20 as it were...), I have tried to return to my state of mind at the original posting, and decided that perhaps I was subconsciously trying to preserve the use of the term as I (subjectively) remember it from the past, in order to distinguish the two practices. To me, slang makes the English language more colorful, and promotes the expression of ideas, so I'm normally highly in favor of the "morphing" of terms over time, and the subsequent new uses of terms. This time I'm more resistant, because I (perhaps selfishly) fear that I'm losing a term that in my own subjective past, more narrowly descibed this practice, without having a satisfactory substitute term. This would explain why my mind plucked the term "reserved" out of my internal vocabulary, rather than expressing it as you (Bacchus) later suggested, which (in hindsight) would have been preferable.

I have no doubt that you are encountering more commonly the broader use of the term, in this present time (my guess is that this is partly due to prostate massage WITH an accompanying orgasm, being probably the more common of the two practices, and that would explain this phenomenon).

Conjecturing further (and assuming that the "orgasm denial" use of milking is more "fringe" behavior...), it seems likely that this term was co-opted by a larger population from a smaller one, as is often the case with new terms or new uses of old terms.

Also, my definition of the word is purely subjective, based on personal exposure to it in context, not from some dictionary or ultimate authority, and thereby colored by its use in wholly other subject matters, such as the milking of a poisonous snake, whereas often the goal is to render it harmless, or to extract every drop of its valuable venom, which pretty much means to milk it dry. Milking the prostate "dry" is (as I understand it), the preferable treatment for "orgasm denial" games, as it leads to a more easily subjugated submissive male.
In fact, I have read that there is an electronic cattleprod-like device (originally used in the practice of obtaining valuable semen from prize bulls and stallions), that is sometimes employed on human males which when properly inserted into his anus, will instantly empty the prostate without the benefit of orgasm.

Upon reflection, I suppose its equally correct to "milk" the prostate as one would a cow who had been separated from its calf, in order to relieve the painful condition of its full udder, which would be more similar to the use of the term by JR...

Again I'm not saying that JR or Bacchus shouldn't use the term as they did, and surely Bacchus's structuring of the sentence would have been a much better way to express my slant, so thanks Bacchus for the opportunity to perhaps not sound so much like a troll!

No worries, Dr. Whiplash. One of my own faults is being perhaps overly sensitive to people who want to use these blog comments to score "you're wrong on the internet!" points; although I know that you're a commenter of helpful good will, my reaction to the "seems to be reserved for" remark was somewhat knee-jerk because of this syndrome.

If I had been able to imagine you had written instead "Prostate milking is a term I have encountered being used more often to describe..." there would have been no issue. As it happens, in my internet ramblings I <b>have</b> stumbled across the usage (and the fetish practice) you and Krytella discuss; though, to be honest, I feel I've seen it used <b>more</b> often the way it was in this post.

Ultimately, like all language questions, there are no absolute meanings, just ever-changing useages.

I didn't mean for my post to have quite such an argumentative tone (else I would have left the word "more" out of the sentence, giving it a definite autocratic tone...) I feel as though Erosblog's purpose is of a somewhat broadly educational nature, and that the use of "milking" as a part of the "orgasm denial" game, may be somewhat abstruse (Subjectively, I was sexually active for *ahem* let's just say... decades before I even heard of this game), to most people. Perhaps my subjective assumption of the "occult" nature of this game, made me sound somewhat despotic, and set a negative tone...

At any rate, my driving motive was to share knowledge that I admittedly found personally hard to come by, not to sound erudite or bombastic...

I meant it as a purely subjective observation. Sometimes (especially for the sake of attempted brevity}, I'm not very articulate expressing myself over the web properly sans inflection of voice and facial expression...

I should have structured the statement better, and I apologize.

I merely wanted to point out that I've found that there's the "milking" that includes a "happy ending" (usually with an accompanying reach-around or a blow-job, and seen as a great gift), and there's a "milking" with perhaps a less happy ending, that's often employed in order to control the male, or in some cases to supply a mutually felt "mental" pleasure more than a physical pleasure, as is often the case in certain BDSM practises. Very often in the latter (more obscure) uses, the goal is to "milk" him dry, and is often done on a regularly scheduled basis in order to achieve the ultimate goal of "orgasm denial". Though JR is assumably a self-proclaimed BDSM practitioner, he appears to describe an orgasm in this case, whereas in the case of "orgasm denial" play, the goal is to drain the prostate without the benefit of the "Scud missile" ride...

Most surely you are right, that no one has the authority to reserve the use of a word especially in the case of sexual slang which is constantly changing, and I hope that in trying to retract my poorly chosen use of the word "reserved", I haven't come across as being additionally argumentative.

I don't think that the index and middle finger would work very well with one on the inside and one on the outside. There's no way to get a good pincer motion. For that I find that the index finger on the inside and thumb on the outside works great. I've tried ass play on a man without prompting once so far and it was a great hit, in fact I think the description in this post matches perfectly what I've been told it feels like. I highly recommend that all men at least give prostate stimulation a try on yourself!

I also was a little surprised at the use of the term "milking," because previously I've only heard it used to refer to causing ejaculation without stimulation of the penis and often without a normal orgasm.

I have a question? I thought index and fore finger are the same. Does this mean that she uses one finger on the outside another on the inside or is it that she uses index and middle finger?

Thanks

<i>"Prostate MILKING seems to be a term reserved..."</i>

I disagree. Who made the reservation?

The post I quoted and comment #2 both suggest that in actual usage, the phrase has a broader meaning that you suggest.

It does feel good and I've had it done by several women. The first was most memorable mainly because it was done without asking and was a complete surprise. The young lady in question looked like she could teach Sunday school but turned out to be eager to please and willing to push boundaries. During our first sexual encounter she was giving me a great blow job when suddenly I felt her finger slide into my ass. I was shocked that she did it, shocked by how good it felt, and really shocked by the power of the orgasm that hit me a few minutes later. Ass play was a regular part of our activities from the gitgo.
