Bats who discovered this practice, likely had a greater chance of successful ejaculation, conception, and therefore reproduction, so nature ended up encouraging the behavior. If the photos of bat penes popping up (no pun intended) recently all over the net aren't photo-shopped productions, then I'm guessing that their organ's relative length and size to it's own body size, is also a factor, making the simultaneous act possible... re: “At present, we do not know why genital licking occurs…”
