With my ninety-year-old aunt, it's about age; but these days, the tech waves are coming faster and faster -- you can be young and behind the times with astonishing ease. It boils down to discernment, really. Ninety percent (or more) of techy inventions are faddish crap, and I've been well served by ignoring them. Sometimes one catches my interest (cf 3D Kink) but usually I can just ignore it and it will go away. Problem is, sometimes it <em>doesn't</em> go away, and then the question is, am I flexible enough to reconsider and figure out why not? Maybe yes, maybe no, I'm still waiting for YouTube to go away and I'm pretty sure that boat will never sail. Lee, the thing is, it isn’t about age any more. However, I am still holding out on Facebook, MySpace, and all those. Among other things, they don't seem to have adult-friendly TOS. Twitter, at least judging from their published rules, doesn't seem to care.
