Hitachi is only the silver standard.

A Panasonic Panabrator version 1 is the gold standard. It took me 2 years to find another on eBay, and I stalked that sucker so hard. Version 2 is too big and later versions have that flaw plus others. Version 1. My plastic husband of 25 years that eventually developed a short. And now I have another. It should last the rest of my life. :)

I found that post very disturbing. I was holding my breath as I was reading it. But, I think we can chalk that up to claustrophobia. I applaud her for even trying it.

There is some research coming out (hopefully soon; it's been submitted once so far and revisions are in progress) that looks at the mechanical properties of vibrators (such as oscillation, frequency, and type of medium housing the vibratory motor). This is an area in dire need of empirical investigation, as sex therapists have been prescribing vibrators for sexual dysfunction for a number of years yet have no basis for recommending one vs. the other, and the only thing consumers have to go on is word-of-mouth and review (mostly by other consumers). Keep watch!
