A Camel Ride In Giza
I’m pretty sure naked camel-riding is not legal in Egypt, but sometimes you just have to disregard petty mundane regulation in the pursuit of great art. Don’t you agree?

A picture of an airplane landing in an unusual place, posted to Twitter apparently by accident, is the big story of the day. Some sites have republished the image — and received criticism for drawing attention to what may be a case of revenge porn. The world cries out for a man with a super power: someone who can trace any picture to the very moment it arrived in cyberspace. Where, oh where, will humanity find such a hero?
Most “revenge porn” is actually just normal porn shot to look like amateur porn and then mis-branded. Where, as here, it’s part of a whole easily-available photoset, the odds of that being the case are much higher. You can’t prove it, you just track the porn back to the site that claims to be a revenge porn site and your world-weary bullshit meter goes off. Unless of course you are a web publication desperate to get a few more hits on a breathless story about malfeasance within the bowls of a corporate PR operation…
My geographical BS meter went off here. This is definitely not Egypt, despite the catchy title of the photoset. Giza, the site of the Pyramids, is a sandy flat plain on the outskirts of the teeming metropolis of Cairo, far from the sea. This hilly seaside location could be any number of places in Western countries where naked camel riding is legal or at least easily and safely accomplished.
At least Wonkette managed to do something clever with the image.
GISman, I didn’t try to second-guess the title of the photoset. They say it’s Giza, it’s Giza for this purpose, just like a 19-year-old porn star in a plaid skirt is a “schoolgirl” when it’s spanking time. Porn reality is its own thing, there’s no point going over porn and calling out the anomalies.
