combat shopping the old-fashioned way

You might have noticed that in general I’m doing a lot less promotion of commercial porn and other affiliate products here on ErosBlog. Partly this is the yields of futility; when there’s not so very much porn-buying going on, for all the reasons we’ve discussed at length in other posts, why “junk up the place” with marketing posts? And partly it’s because your steady Patreon support gives me a bit of breathing room, supporting at least partially my costs of operation and giving me the sense that it’s OK to focus on the kinds of posts that make me (and hopefully you) the most happy. Which is why, these days, if you see an affiliate link on a porn photo it’s very often there because it gives me rights to publish a photo that I otherwise wouldn’t have permission to publish, or wouldn’t have access to in the first place.

That said, I do notice that sales still “perk up” at two of the old stalwart companies that I’ve been doing business for almost twenty years — since before I was a sex blogger — whenever they run one of their annual or semi-annual heavy-discount sales. I’m talking about Kink.com and The Stockroom, which are both running their biggest sales of the year (or close to it) over this Black Friday / Cyber Monday weekend. Whenever they run sales like this and I link to them, my stats show that some of you like to take advantage of the unusually-good bargains. So I consider posts like this to be “reader service” as much as anything else. I know you are seeing a ton of internet pitches today, so you’ll get no hard sells from me. This is just your heads up about some serious discounts from companies that have had my business and my respect for decades. Hope you find it helpful!

Kink.comBlack Friday Sale (through Sunday, November 26)

The value proposition here is very straightforward. Their flagship product (Kink Unlimited, which is every “channel” or site they’ve ever produced or are currently producing bundled together) normally has a monthly subscription cost of $39.99. For the duration of the sale, the discounts start at 50% and get cheaper as you select longer subscription periods. If you buy a year’s subscription, your monthly cost is just $9.99! (That one-year subscription, which does not rebill at the end like the others, would make your kinky somebody a pretty nifty Christmas gift. Just sayin’.)

Monday Update: It turns out there’s a surprise Cyber Monday sale with even better pricing (60% off, as low as $7.99). I’m pretty sure that’s as low as it’s gonna get!

Stockroom.comBlack And Blue Sale (through Monday, November 27)

Fundamental sales propositions: Discounts up to 70% on select items, a coupon code (BLACK20) good for 20% of non-sale items (a few high-ticket things like furniture and sex machines excepted), and some freebie bondage rope that appears in your shopping cart if you spend $99 or more. Based on my experience watching Stockroom sales, I’d say to check back over the weekend for even more sale items; sometimes they seem to rotate deals during the sale, rewarding multiple visits and orders. (Obviously I can’t swear that will happen this time; I’m just saying I’ve seen it before. That they are advertising some 70% discounts, while I am not seeing any quite that large at the moment, is reinforcing the suspicion.)

If you think of The Stockroom as a BDSM gear vendor, you’re not wrong but you might be missing out. They long have carried an extremely wide variety of general-utility sex toys, and this sale so far includes four different strap-on harnesses, some nice glass and jeweled butt plugs, Tantus dildos, and the famous Njoy Fun Wand.
