I think this is the novel in which the female protagonist fantasizes about fucking a bear . . and then gets mauled when she tries to live out her fantasy.
There is a review of the novel by the James Davis Nicoll famed for that quote about the purity of the English language. Evidently “Bear” was once famous in the junior high schools of the nation like the shower scene in Starship Troopers.
That book is a CanLit legend (we talked about it at length in my university writing program) and yet… I’ve never read it.
Some days you get the bear, and some days the bear gets you.
