I understand that a lot of the more rebellious artists in the past, found Adam’s reputed first wife, Lilith, to be a far more fascinating subject, and would sometimes depict their interpretation of her, and publicly insinuate that it was Eve being depicted.
Legend has it that Lilith was actually Adam’s first wife, who would not assume a sexually submissive role, and left him. I have heard this interpreted that Lilith, would not enjoy “missionary style” or “doggie style” sex, and preferred the “cowgirl” and “reverse cowgirl” positions. Perhaps these more polite ways of saying that she preferred face-sitting?
Adam, reputedly preferred Eve, who would acommodate him from the “bottom”…
More Western religious paintings should be so instructional! Or perhaps they were, but were destroyed in various conservative purges through the ages :(
Note to Justin:
They probably weren’t all destroyed. Reportedly, the Vatican is hoarding the largest collection of “pornographic” paintings and drawings on the planet! It is presumed that their purpose for these actions, are a form of censorship.
I’m glad Pope Francis is more relaxed than his predecessors, a pity he’s still not likely to let that kind of stuff see the light of day!

From the looks of our subject’s activity, a more apt name might be “The Garden of Eatin'”
