Translation from a Francophone reader : “In fact, he mastubates her”.

So it means something like:
“He did in fact use to shake (finger) her.”
“In fact, he was masturbating her.”
Branler in that case is masturbating.
this is translated by my French born native speaker friend.
Here is one possible translation: “Actually, he was jerking her off.”
Colloquially, it translates to “In fact, he was getting her off”, as branlait can mean ‘was jerking off’ or other synonymous phrases for masturbation.
Fairly literally, it translates to “In fact, he was making her wobble”, in the sense of someone or something who is unsteady and about to fall over, but I don’t believe that’s the sense meant here.
