Dr. Faustus On The Sequential Sex Podcast
My good friend Dr. Faustus appears on today’s episode of the Sequential Sex podcast hosted by Johnny Jackhammer: A Conversation With Dr. Faustus. Faustus and J-Jack had an animated twenty minute conversation about one of Faustus’s enthusiasms (the absurd erotic comic The Adventures of Phoebe Zeit-Geist) and one of his projects (the Tales Of Gnosis College comics). The success of the interview can be inferred from the fact that they faded out Dr. Faustus in the middle of a proper mad-scientist evil laugh…
I’m not a big podcast listener, but this one would have been fun to hear even if I wasn’t Dr. Faustus’s friend. Recommended! You can download the podcast episode via its Sequential Sex page and perhaps other places. (The Sequential Sex podcast has an Apple/iTunes presence but this episode wasn’t showing yet when I looked.)

Haven’t listened to the podcast yet, but when I went looking for Phoebe Zeit-Geist on google I found that last year they put on a play version set in Trump’s America at a Los Angeles Theater.

Nudity on stage alert!
P.S. And I discovered this comic is the source of that weird Fassbinder sci-fi film that I have yet to see.
Hmm, I dunno anything about that but my own quick Google to find out turned up a Fassbinder play called Blood on the Cat’s Neck in which one of the characters is said to be Phoebe-from-the-comic, which I see is also credited as the inspiration for the modern play in LA.
Ted —
Did not know about the play versions but will definitely look into the matters. Thanks!
The early 1970s film anthology Dynamite Chicken has some clips from Phoebe, with some nude models who appear at various points in the movie taking poses to make tableaux vivants of some of the panels in the comic.
