Sanity Returns
This comes from Mouffette Fatale, where it has a caption:
Slowly, sanity returned to Grace and she drew herself erect and started straightening up her clothes.

Oh yes indeedy. I like it. Not sure about the withered arm but, artistic license aside, I definitely like it.
She would surely have to stand straight in those shoes, or she’d fall over!
If standard mattress height is about 20 inches, that would make the top surface of that night stand about 24 inches.
Being as the illustrator’s perspective doesn’t show us that actual surface, that would put the the probable posture of the viewer as being submissively on one’s knees, sitting on one’s heels, and peeking up from one’s bowed head.
This is what gives this woman such a commanding presence…

That looks like one of those Aunt Martha’s hot iron transfers. Maybe that is to go on some pillow slips.
