In a long career of dumb ideas, opening an escort agency was probably not Archie’s dumbest, but it certainly wasn’t his smartest, either:
Of course, if “escort” had begun to be used as a euphemism for “sex worker” in 1942 when Pep Comics #30 published this storyline, there’s no hint of it in the story; the notion was $10 squeaky-clean dates for lonely ladies so Archie could pay off a $20 traffic ticket.
