This photo from the March 1941 issue of Zest magazine offers a nifty glimpse into that era of publishing when every newspaper and magazine had a library of clip art for pasteup and weren’t afraid to make creative use of any of it for a cheap joke. Feel pity, too, for the photographic intern who got sent out into the park to dig up some shaggy turfs of grass to round out the visual:
