Why, it appears to be the ladies (and a select few gentlemen) grabbing their mushroom baskets and rushing out into the forests!

Ah yes… the famous Phallus Impudicus or “shameless cock”. Sometimes also known as the “stinkhorn mushroom”. I once found a variety in my lawn that was flesh-colored and wet-looking. Never having heard of them at the time, I at first was quite disturbed as I thought someone (or something) had removed the genitalia from the neighbor’s dog. Then I noticed that it seemed to be pushing up from the earth itself.
I suddenly have a craving for Italian…
