Beware EdenFantasys.com
If you’re a regular sex blog reader or writer, you’re probably aware of EdenFantasys.com (Eden Fantasys). They’re one of the many companies competing for your internet sex toy dollar, and they are more prominent than many because they spread a fair amount of money (and sex toys) around the blogging community in exchange for reviews and attention. They never impressed me much — despite advertising briefly on ErosBlog — because their store front and inventory always seemed hopelessly “more of the same” to me, with nothing to distinguish the brand. But, probably, that’s just me.
One of the smart things they did was to hire AAG (formerly “Always Aroused Girl”), whose sex blogger credentials and contacts were (and are) very good, to do PR and outreach for them. And she did it well.
The not smart thing? When their business relationship with her went sour, they refused, she says, to pay her for work performed. Apparently they forgot the first rule of business, which is that your PR professional remains a PR professional even after she stops being your PR professional.
My own many years of doing business over the internet have taught me something that serious businessmen already knew — namely, that business is all about trust, and especially about character. I’ve quoted J.P. Morgan before: “A man I do not trust could not get money from me on all the bonds in Christendom.” Thus, in my opinion, a person, or a company, that fails to resolve its business disputes on the labor side, is also the sort of outfit that can’t be trusted to fairly resolve its disputes on the customer side. Whatever the details of AAG’s dispute with EdenFantasys.com, I know her well enough to know that she’s not unreasonable. If they failed to resolve their dispute with her, I personally don’t trust them to resolve their dispute with you, if you should be unhappy with your results after playing the big internet gambling game that is forking over your credit card and ordering merchandise from Hera-only-knows-where.
Hence, this warning.
There are plenty of sex toy stores on the internet. You don’t need to take a risk on an outfit that treats its contract employees unfairly.
One final note: Eden Fantasys is currently sending out spammy form letters to sex bloggers, seeking to arrange link exchanges, toy reviews, and the like. If you get (or have gotten) any of these, you might consider responding with a suggestion that they resolve their dispute with AAG. I’m sure she would appreciate the support.

good information to have….I have them advertised on my site, but have contemplated taking them down for a long time now. starting with a minor issue i had w/ wanting to purchase a gift certificate from their site: something they refused to offer…..and like many other bloggers I’m sure, i’d rather lend my support to fellow bloggers like AAG than the toy store :)
Well said. I couldn’t agree with you more.
I did a very brief affiliation with Eden a long time ago, but it just felt “off” somehow. The toys were crap (though I admit I may be a snob about my toys) but the whole thing just didn’t sit right in intuitive place (no not that place! Pervs.) So I dropped them pretty quickly and haven’t looked back since.
Now I’m glad I did. I really really like it when I’m right. :D
There are far too many good places to work with to take chances on companies like that one.
Thanks for the heads-up. I’ve never cared much for the site myself, either; it always felt a little too mundane and not as community-active and all that stuff that I get from Babeland, Blowfish, or GV.
Come As You Are is a good, reliable & well-known online store in Canada.
The forums on eden’s site are getting to sound like a he said/she said story.
But I know and trust AAG, and her rep in the community is sound.
If Eden’s owner has a scrap of sense, he’ll quit trying to spin this his way and start doing damage control. Otherwise his rep is fucked. It’s a reputation economy, and his ‘Whuffie’ is nearing zero.
Yeah, Karl, that “FU” he gave her pretty much undermines anything he’s said later. I’m confident she didn’t make up that quote, and if he’s trying to “F” her, he doesn’t get much benefit of the doubt in the credibility department when it comes to the things he says while trying to “F” her.
You just don’t want to be doing business with someone who will say “FU” while there’s an unresolved dispute on the table.

I do appreciate the support, Bacchus and ErosBlog readers.
EdenFantasys.com is a site with some wonderful features and products, but not paying an employee is just unconscionable.
I will let everyone know when and if the situation is resolved. And I hope it will be. :)
Thanks for this info. I read AAG’s post(s) minus the name of the company and I think I received something from the Eden Fantasy people.. but it left a bad taste in my mouth. Now I’m most definitely glad I didn’t do anything about it.
I’ve never had an dealings with Eden Fantasys (and shouldn’t that be “fantasies”) — except ignoring a few email requests to exchange linkage a while back. So I don’t have anything to add on that front, except good luck to AAG and shame on them. Karma’s a bitch.
BUT I have had experience with The Stockroom, and also highly recommend them. A package which should have arrived in two days, arrived in three and they actually — with absolutely no hesitation — refunded the money to my CC.
AND I so agree with you, Bacchus, that “business is all about trust, and especially about character.” Even in the business of sex — maybe even more so because it is the business of sex — we need to always conduct ourselves ethically and in good faith.
Because, like I said, Karma is a bitch … I wanna keep mine nice and shiny and purdy.
Angela, I’m just shocked that you had a package come a day slow from The Stockroom — for me, their stuff always arrives impossibly fast. It’s like they have psychic gnomes who pack and ship the orders before I am done making them. ;-)
I don’t think it’s that they’re psychic, Bacchus; it’s just that hey just know better than to f**k with you!
*wink*
Here’s my vote for Good Vibrations. Classy company–I’ve done business with them for close
to 15 years. Excellent products and trustworthy!
