Sophia Loren Adjusting Her Stockings
As nearly as my limited statistical tools can specify, of all the 4,728 posts on ErosBlog since 2002, the most popular in terms of continued traffic have been the posts sharing Sophia Loren’s hard-to-find photos from her one topless movie shoot. In light of that curious fact, I thought I should also share this 1963 photo of Sophia Loren adjusting her stockings:

It has that appearance of a candid shot taken between scenes on a film set. Just a surmation on my part… But it made me wonder how today’s teenage boys would react to such a sight. In my day, one had such a visceral reaction that women would coyly feign a problem as a flirty come-on. It was so reliable that it would literally stop traffic and it was often used as a device in movies to affect speedy success when hitch-hiking. I haven’t seen such a real-life ploy though, since the invention of pantyhose. What a shame. Women must now rely on the “hair-toss”…
Well, I’m off to Google women “adjusting their stockings”. There goes another afternoon…
Wow! Woman adjusting stocking without quotation marks works better. I wonder if I’ll get different results with woman adjusting garter?

Quick question: is a surmation more like a surmise, or a supposition? ;-)
;oD …with just a touch of “summation”.You won’t find it in a legit dictionary. It’s the kind of word only found in a movie such as “My Cousin Vinny”, along with the proper cooking time for grits. Can’t be found in use north of Worshintin, D.C., or west of the Rockies….
My brother in law just came up with “functionable” (instead of “functional”) which I actually quite like.

I thought about creating the word “surmention”, ( a combination of “surmise” and “contention”), but I was afraid of confusion with the guy who sang “Baby Got Back”.
Actually, I’ve made up words on ErosBlog before, and I’ve often used words so obscure they can’t be found in unabridged dictionaries, but can be “Googled”.
I get this way sometimes when I’ve been chewing on belleflower roots for nasal congestion… ( they’re saying antihistamines might be causing Alzheimer’s disease. Hmmm… Maybe it’s too late for me…)
I’m just as likely to make up a phrase. If only three cowboys can be mustered for a “draw and quartering”, and the shortage of lassos means only one loop around both ankles or both wrists, then I’m likely to call it a “draw and tripling”, or if five wranglers show up, and they want to put a fifth rope around the poor victim’s neck or something, I’d be tempted to call it a “draw and quintupling”.
I can almost guarantee there have been times when if you Googled these words (or phrases), EroBlog would have been the ONLY hit that popped up.
By the way, Jeff Foxworthy likely wouldn’t even blink an eye at “functionable”…
