The View From Up Here Is Amazing!
I can’t be certain this is a bridal party doing cheeky photos after a wedding, but the lady second from the right does have a bouquet in her hand, so I’m going with that:
I wish I were enough of botanist to identify the continent, country, or mountain range where this photo was taken by identifying the greenery in the foreground, but sadly, I am not. Three different skin tones, three puffy jackets, one fake fur coat, one sweater, one posh cashmere sweater, and one “I left my coat in the car” makes me think “Europe, urban girls in the countryside, but not in Eastern Europe.” That’s all I got!

What a lovely outcropping of young ladies!
After extensive analysis of the foreground, it appears to be grass. That narrows it down to the planet earth. My first thought was Croatia. But I agree with your view on the different skin tones and dress styles. They don’t look like a bunch of local Croat girls. But a popular tourist destination, so it could be. And they do have grass there.
JA, nice job identifying the botanical family, but… I probably could have done that. :-) Obviously I was talking about the sort of species identification that might have limited the geographical possibilities, though.
I did try my best. Scanned the ground for a flower or something, before I even checked out the girls.
I’ll take the one on the left who forgot her coat, if that’s ok with everyone else.
No worries, JA — grasses are notoriously hard for botanists to key, and I don’t think many of them are bold enough to try it from a photograph.
The one who urgently needs someone to warm her up and keep her from the foggy foggy dew also looks like the most fun and uninhibited in the whole bunch, although camouflage-coat girl shows similar promise. And I’m going all the way to the extreme right if I need somebody to go with me for a night of stealing luxury cars and joyriding at top speed while swigging premium bourbon from the bottle.
I think we missed a good party.
Next time we need to work out where it is before the photo.
