Rescue or Ravishment?
Bondage Blog has a breathtaking pulp cover illustration of (presumably) a gentleman who is going to extreme and perilous lengths to rescue his distressed damsel. Although if you prefer a darker fantastic frame, the possibility is raised that our gallant hero is instead “a caddish pervert who hopes to effect a locked-room ravishment mystery.” For shame!

Clicking through this is the Saint, Leslie Charteris’s gentleman scoundrel.
For those who haven’t met him, the Saint, Simon Templar, is a playboy who rights wrongs and helps people often using methods outside the law, usually making the police fools, and coming out of it richer, but not always.
There is a high chance that the young lady will be ravished, but being a gentleman only with consent. That said, the handsome rake usually has ladies queuing with their consents all filled out.
I had a vague idea that Ian Fleming was a contemporary of and had been influenced by Charteris, and I was sort of right upon searching… but not in the way I anticipated. It turns out Flemings wife was Ann Charteris, no relation, because Leslie Charteris was an assumed name. And if you are looking for kinky, I suggest you look up articles on the letters between Ian and Ann that Sothebys auctioned in 2019.
