About a year ago I posted a short video of a man who let himself be goaded into touching his tongue to an electric bug zapper paddle even though he knew it was a painfully bad idea. Another man can be heard yelling “Don’t be a pussy” in the background, which I used as the jumping-off point for some perhaps-overwrought (per the comments both here and on social media) comments about patriarchy, weaponized misogyny, and toxic masculinity. Maybe I was right or maybe I was wrong to do so, but that all came back to me in a flash when I saw this guy test a similar electric fly swatter with no provocation at all:

You’ve got to love the way he just schools his face back to innocence and blankness while trying to pretend nothing happened, hoping his wife won’t notice that he’s an actual doofus-idiot. Sorry, guy, but she knew it before she ever agreed to marry you!

If this video has a moral, it’s to do with another point from modern feminist discourse. It’s sometimes said that laughing at men is dangerous for women, which I don’t doubt in abstract general terms. But this wife? She’s fearless!
