More than twenty years ago the celebrated internet essayist James Lileks documented a micro-fetish in the work of 1950s pinup artist Art Frahm: namely, the man was moderately obsessed with humiliated heroines whose panties fell off in public, usually while their arms were full of groceries or packages. Whether subsequent appearances of falling panties in pulp art and softcore porn were all inspired by Frahm’s fetish or whether men have been watching hopefully for panty failures since the undergarments were invented is impossible to untangle at this late date. But either way, ErosBlog has been collecting panty fail images ever since Lileks first called them to my attention back in 2003:
