This vintage topless photo amused me because of the ambiguity of the model’s gaze. Is she uncertain about taking her top off? Or just looking to the photographer to make sure he likes the way she’s doing it?

Normally I’d associate a pretty outdoor nude of this vintage with a nudist camp setting, or at least with crypto-porn wearing that camouflage. But the brilliant smile while trying to balance on indoor shoes, the fully dressed men laughing in the background, and the bulky square equipment case one of them is carrying, make me think “model” rather than genuine nudist:
