Young love and sex in the back seat of a big car: some pleasures never get old, even if big cars get harder and harder to find.
I do wonder, though, whether the artist intended the social commentary I see in this scene. He’s lost in the moment, but she’s clearly in a state of hypervigilance about who might be approaching the car or witnessing their stolen moments of youthful lust. It’s the dreaded old double standard in action; social consequences for women seen as too sexual, consequences that the fellow doesn’t remotely have to worry about.
