Thanks, JD. It’s been a long slow trip for me, but decades of hanging around in sex-positive queer-friendly gender-fluid virtual spaces have done me at least a little bit of good. If you promise not to laugh at me, I’ll point to the moment in 2003 when I added the first gay porn blog to my blogroll and with a degree of awkwardness painful to re-read in 2024, wrote: “ErosBlog is pretty inexorably heterosexual. But, um, like, that stuff that they do, that’s sex too, right? Doesn’t seem fair to just ignore it.”
Oh, but bless you for doing so in *2003*, when so many spaces were blanching at the very idea that there might be anything but the two approved types of sex, much less porn: “for heterosexual men (men present)” and “for heterosexual men (no men present)”.
You want to see blanching?
