A Bee Girl For Faustus
Found this picture on my hard drive — provenance utterly unknown, probably alt. binaries. pictures. nude or some similarly untraceable source — and immediately thought of Faustus and his bee girls:

Oh I remember her! She’s one of hundreds of naked bicyclists who crash an annual street-fair parade each summer in my neighborhood.
The background’s too blurry to be certain but it looks like one of the corners we’ve watched the parade from. I didn’t take or post this photo. I do usually take pictures of the scores of photographers who show up for the event instead.

Damn! At parades in my neighborhood all we get to see is the alderman and the marching band from the Lutheran Church.
When will fashion hurry up and encourage women that paint-on clothing is in?
One thing’s for sure, never will be the wrong size.
I’m pretty sure that
a) that was taken at the annual Fremont Solstice Parade in Seattle WA, which has a very large contingent of naked bike riders
and
b) that is a friend of one of my adult kids
What? 5 comments and noone’s come up the ever-so-witty, “Mmm, gimme some honey, Honey!”
I don’t know why, but the more I look at that picture, the thing I like the most is the yellow hair. There’s just something captivating about it.
Mr. Zorg: The more I look at the picture, the more I think about how painful sitting on the seat without a “barrier” could be. Then again, I might have the wrong bike seat. She’s definitely pretty, though.
Thanks, Bacchus!
Flotsam’s hypothesis that this picture is from the Fremont Solstice Parade seems very likely to me in light of Wikipedia’s article on “Solstice Cyclists,” which I encourage anyone interested in this post to look up — more pictures, for one thing!
Flotsam, in light of your second point, would you please pass on to her my appreciation for her being the subject matter of what is certainly one of the most delightful images that I have ever seen in my entire life.
And thank you Bacchus for sharing it with so many people.
