Katharine Hepburn, More Ravishing Than Usual
Here’s a young Katharine Hepburn sweeping a helpless soldier-type off his feet:
It’s from The Warrior’s Husband (1932) and I found it on Sex Is Not The Enemy.

Huh. I wonder if they got that via the MaleSubmissionArt.com essay I just posted about this photograph. I know Tumblr tends to churn up images over and over, but I haven’t seen this one around on Tumblr much, so it’s interesting to suddenly see it pop up in two sources at once, right after I posted it. Serendipity is cool.
Dude, check the date … they posted it last October.
First rule of passive-aggressive complaining about lack of link credit: make sure people can’t see at a glance that your complaint is baseless. Trust me, I’m the king of having stuff yoinked from my blog and reposted without a polite aknowledgment, so I’ve tried every flavor of remonstrance.
Whoa, dude, relax. I wasn’t complaining, although I’ll take this opportunity to offer apologies to you if you thought I was. I really like it when images like these get reposted, and I’ve said as much in various fora.
Also, I didn’t realize the image itself was a link to the initial post. Your textual link to Sex Is Not The Enemy simply links to their homepage, not the permalink. Yeah, I overlooked seeing the fact that you did offer a permalink, so I’m sorry for that, but I don’t think I’m alone in sometimes overlooking something like that.
Anyway, I’ll reiterate my point in commenting: “Yay for sexy Katharine Hepburn looking kind of dominant. That’s awesome and I’m glad to serendipituously see it pop up all over my feeds again.”
I’m gonna assume good faith here and take this as a miscommunication turned into a compliment.
I do, that. ;) Truce?
I’m plenty relaxed, but I still recognize a good passive-aggressive complaint when I see it. If you do it right (and you did) it’s 100% deniable, but the message is still nice and clear. It’s not like this is my first blogging rodeo, after all.
No worries, it’s not like I mind or anything. But I’m gonna call it like I see it, which you of all people ought to appreciate. ;-)
Sure … I never was exercised in any case. Pax.
Gah, you’re all missing the important bits, here. A jaw suffused with power and grace, and cheekbones you could shave with. Let the rabble have the rest.
Kate was one hot knockout when she was young. A prototype of the modern woman. Don’t you just LOVE her in ‘The Philadelphia Story’?
I think she was awesome throughout her career. Of course I did just love her in “The Philadelphia Story,” but she was also awesome looking both backward (think “Bringing up Baby”) and forward in her later roles with Spencer Tracy.
Okay, I admit I’m all pathetic fanboy now…
I just wanted to chime in with an “I love Katharine Hepburn”. I still kinda want to be her when I grow up.
