Dick On A Stick: The Early Days
Does anybody remember my rantish query back in 2010 when I speculated about the pornographic logic of the dick on a stick? The commenters and I came up with quite a long list of reasons why the use of a dildo on a lengthy pole might solve various problems for porn producers, but we didn’t really make progress on my root question, namely, is there an audience for it? Is it a fetish, or just a practicality?
Thirteen years later I’m no closer to having any answers, but I did find a dick-on-a-stick example that proves the practice had decades of history when I first raised the questions. This dick on a stick bondage photo is from an undated Color Climax bondage magazine (Bondage King Size #3) published in Copenhagen, in the 1970s or perhaps the early 1980s:

Without the concomitant bondage, I can see very little logic in the practice. But in the hands of a competant dominatrix (and perhaps a male locked in a humbler), I can see a certain efficiency…
It would be similar to the use of one of those fucking machines…
There’s surely something to be said for an unfailing erection…
It also occurs to me that a dick on a stick has more possibilities than a static long-time implanted butt plug or strapped in penis gag. Neither of which would directly physically stimulate the wielder of said objects, so in my opinion, the dick on a stick would better serve many of the reasons for those “stickless” objects.
Some strap-ons have insertables on the other end, that will provide their users with some stimulation, but many chose strap-ons without the optional mutual stimulation. Therefore the stimulation for the sticker is more mental than physical as with the “stikee”.
I am sure you are all over this but to me the rationale for the dick-on-a-stick is obvious: It allows the viewer to observe penetration with the minimum possible obstruction to the view.
