Hales sternly explains that “someone has to go in their crate because they’re in trouble for barking and growling at every random man who looks at them on the street.”
It hardly seems fair!

Well it could hardly be the big cuddly teddy bear that was being snarly :-D
More seriously if a dog misbehaves or does something good, then the telling off or praise needs to be delivered immediately, otherwise they don’t know what action is related to the punishing or rewarding. So putting the dog in a cage as punishment after the walk is completely out of order in my book.
Dogs pick up on your emotions, if she has the dog out with her and snarls at men on the street, the dog will be more wary of men, which can lead to bad behaviours. So definitely some cage time for her for setting the dog a bad example. And maybe the rolled up newspaper needs an outing in future.
Before anyone worries, the newspaper is a noise maker, you slap your hand, and the dog recognises the sound, you never, ever, ever raise the newspaper to the dog. It’s a technique, and it worked for my parents as breeders, turning out really well behaved, and happy show dogs. Young ladies are a completely different matter 😈
So all in all, seems fair, and maybe a good spanking later is needed too. My 2c 😜
There’s another TikTok video meme, enacted by multiple creators, in which a woman is relaxing in a large dog crate on a thick fluffy dog bed, with her Stanley beverage cup and her e-reader and her headphones, as her pack of too many dogs and perhaps a few toddler children mill around discontentedly in the room outside, trying to get her attention. She comments on the theme of “I finally figured out what this crate is good for!”

Though I wish my partner had worked out what a crate was really for. By the time we met they’d got rid of the one the breeder recommended they train the dogs to, and the dogs were past the age where they’re adaptable enough to get comfy in the safety of their crate and their space.
