Some of ErosBlog’s younger readers may not realize that before Mario Kart was invented, people had to do their racing in actual physical go-karts. But this photo of a mostly-naked kart race is more than half a century old and IMO the safety equipment is sorely deficient even for that era. Points for helmet-wearing, but safety belts/harnesses, leathers to prevent track rash, and front tires that aren’t completely bald would all improve the game, if not the aesthetics:
