Did you know that “mouth soaping” is a thing? An erotic thing, a fantasy punishment with fetishists who enjoy doing it, watching it, or experiencing it?
It appears to be taxonomically close to the spanking fetish (Spanking Blog has a bunch of mouthsoaping posts) and perhaps shares a common genesis in real-life punishments witnessed, experienced, threatened, or overheard at a young age. Sometimes I wonder how many fetishes are like that; if there’s good science on it, I haven’t seen it. But the meme, at least, was out there when I was growing up — “I’ll wash that dirty mouth out with soap!” was something I heard grownups say, though I always considered it an empty threat.
