A Delicious Amazon-Tarzan Sammich
I love this Frank Frazetta illustration showing an unhappy Tarzan being “woman-handled” by two muscular-yet-utterly-delicious Amazons:
He just looks so disgruntled….

Interesting that these amazons had the time to bleach their on top hair!
A great designer. Happy new year… :D
I love Frazetta.
I thought Amazons were usually missing a tittie…
New friends of Jane, perhaps?

Muscular… YET attractive?
That’s so mean. It seems bizarre to penalize women for being, you know, able to defend themselves, or otherwise not total pushover wimps.
Sunya, that’s not what I was talking about. I was contrasting these Amazons to their nearest analog in popular culture, which is the body-builder women who are mostly starved, steroid-soaked, bulging-veined, testosterone-ravaged parodies of people. Whatever that’s all about, it’s surely not self-defense; it’s a form of extreme body modification that’s not, to my eye, attractive.
Note that it’s not uncommon for natural blondes to have darker pubic hair. Man, Frazetta obviously loved painting women.
Yes, the word amazon means without breast. Amazons had one breast removed to allow for their archery to be unimpeded.
Barry, that’s too strong a claim. One of the early legends of Amazon warriors said that they were women who had removed a breast to allow for better archery … but in popular usage, the word has come to mean simply fierce female warriors, or even just strong, powerful, combative women of any kind.
Seems to me that one of the Amazons is left handed, and the other is right handed. Nuff said.
