The New “Related” Links
Pardons for the purely administrative prattle with no sex, but what do folks think of the new “Similar Sex Blogging” links appearing after certain posts? I’m doing them with a WordPress plug-in called Terong’s Related Posts, which makes it quick and easy to add links to posts from the archives. I saw it being done by some of the blogs in my blogroll and thought it was a neat idea — a sort of low-impact way to entice people back into the ever-growing and mostly-unread archives.
To cure the “no sex” boredom of this post, I’ll use the plugin to link to a few older favorites of mine.

Awesome idea! This and the “random post” box provide lots of opportunity to see past posts without feeling compelled to slog through archives chronologically.
I like it except that I tend to spend double the amount of time on your blog site as before you used it. :o)
I’d like to as my provider, Windows Live Spaces to provide that feature it is very neat. Is it a lot of work to implement?
Cheers,
Gandalfe
In WordPress it’s just a plugin that consists of a couple hundred lines of simple php code. I don’t know much about the Microsoft development environment that powers Livespaces, but it wouldn’t be a big job. They could put a programmer on it and he could do it in a couple of days.
But this is the people who had a team of sixteen to choose a shut down noise for Vista. So good luck with that, but I wouldn’t hold my breath if I were you.
Well maybe I have an inside contact … or two. Now if I could figure out how to point to your comment without getting fired. ;o)
“No really, it was for business reasons! And I didn’t look at the pictures.” Sorry, it just makes me laugh.
LOL, you got me. I say again, more sincerely, good luck with that. :-)
For me it’s a great feature as having the links allows me a way to more systematically explore your blog. Many of the blogs I find are interesting, but I lack the time (patience?) to go back through them and really get a sense for the writer, content, etc. Having these links makes it not only simpler but more enjoyable to explore ErosBlog.
If it’s possible to change the list style so that it’s horizontal, that would make me happy :) but yes, it’s addictive. Keep it!
Oh man, this is one of the reasons I adore your site –this and the random box. Just hopping around means I *always* find something pretty and new to read or look at, even though I’ve been coming here pretty much every day for the last five months.
