They Call Her “Jeannie The Zucchini”
And now, in honor of the fact that yesterday for the first time in my life I ate a dish containing cooked zucchini that was not entirely disgusting, allow me to present:
Girl With Zucchini Up Her Butt
No, that’s not the one I ate. Perv you very much for asking.

I am only an amateur botanist but I am pretty sure that is a cucumber, it looks strange at this end due to it being a bit old. You know how it is when you buy something in for a special dish and then never get the chance to do it?
The cucurbitaceous fruit linked in your post “Novel Use For Surplus Zucchini” is definitely a zucchini. http://www.eros...hini/
Zucchini and potato soup with a little fresh parsley, watercress or rocket with lemon, a few cashews, pepper, ginger, soy(a) sauce and olive oil. Boil the potato for ten minutes, add the zucchini for another ten minutes then purée everything together with garlic to taste.
Hug, you could be right but I think that’s a stem on the end, which a cucumber typically does not have in retail presentation.
One of the reasons I love this site: where else would that photo inspire a botanical discussion AND a recipe suggestion?

Speaking of which, my local Thai restaura(n)teur uses cucumber in her pad pak. Heretofore I had only enjoyed it raw…
At first I had mistaken it for zucchini, because it was an English cuke.
If you like this sort of veggie thing, this girl looks like she’s shooting the bird!:
