Why Rich Men Buy Boats
A sandy beach towel for sunbathing is all well and good, but for true comfort, your sunbathing yacht bunnies really prefer a sleeping bag and some nice clean pillows stretched out on the gleaming white fiberglass upperworks:

Your random button seems to be broken
Does the link format look like “https://www.erosblog.com/?redirect_to=random&before=last%20week” to you? If so, please tell me what happens when you click it, because that’s working for me.
If not, please do a hard clear of your local browser cache. Because I recently changed my randomizer plugin and the old link format indeed doesn’t work any more. The plugin I was using was ancient and insecure.
I’ve noticed the same issue.
The random button sends me to the home page. I cleared the cache. The link is
“https://www.erosblog.com/?random&random_post_type=post”
I’m using Vivaldi browser on android.
Ancient and insecure. That might be more appropriate for some of us.
Thank you JA; that is indeed the old-format link code.
I’m phrasing this carefully to avoid assigning responsibility, but: I still think that is resulting from a local browser cache holding onto old files. Some browsers are stubborn about it and maintain local caching for weeks unless something called a “hard clear” is done — each browser is different about how to accomplish that. (In Chrome, you have to be in “inspect” mode for the page and then right click on the little circular-arrow page refresh button to see the hard-clear option.)
As near as I can tell, the old random link format is no longer being served by any of the templates on my server, and I have cleared all of the server-side caching. (It’s certainly possible that I am mistaken about either or both of those propositions but I have triple-checked to the best of my ability.) So I truly think that the hard cache clearing is the next thing to check.
One further diagnostic is to load EB in a private or guest window where your browser doesn’t have any saved cookies or cached pages. That will force new stuff to be loaded from ErosBlog instead of from your local cache. If the random button works, you’ll know it’s a local cache issue. Likewise you can try it on a device or in a browser where you’ve never loaded ErosBlog before and nothing is saved.
On android,Vivaldi private window, opera and chrome all direct to the old link. Chrome has never seen EB before.
However, on Linux desktop, Firefox with loads of EB cache, and a virgin chrome both direct to the new correct random page link.
I don’t really know what all this indicates. But from here it looks like the mobile version is picking up the old link from somewhere.
May the force be with you.
JA, I am deeply in your debt for doing such careful troubleshooting for me. Zeroing in on mobile put me on the trail of the problem.
I was indeed able to track down a wayward mobile template fragment that was still serving the old link. I *think* have it cleared/changed now; testing in several different mobile browsers I hadn’t tried before now works.
Anybody/everybody, please let me know if you still have this problem! JA, thanks again!
It’s a pleasure. It all seems to work now. Well done.
Maybe you can reciprocate by helping me out. Looking at your original post. I’ve had boats all my life, but have never managed to get two beautiful naked ladies on my foredeck. What am I doing wrong? Do I need a bigger boat, or is there some sort of bait I should lay out?
JA, the only answer I have comes from a place of cynicism and cultural observation, not practical experience. I think the bait is “stupid amounts of money” and if it’s not working, definitely get a bigger boat. Sophisticated gentlemen do and have made the boat-fu work with humble wooden rowboats, but one presumes they were mixing in other forms of rizz that aren’t displayed in the visual evidentiary record.
