This image is from High Frequency Electric Currents in Medicine and Dentistry (1910), by one Dr. Samuel Howard Monell, who the American X-Ray Journal once commended for doing “more for static electricity than any other living man.” The caption of the photo shown above helpfully explains that the high-frequency current “will gently stimulate all natural secretions of the body when they fall below normal functionation.”
