The Sex Blog Of Record
Friday, September 1st, 2023 -- by Bacchus
I have always assumed that horny young technically-adept men were the primary market for VR porn. Porn enjoyment generally is said to skew heavily male, and adding nifty cutting-edge electronic gadgets to the porn-viewing enterprise perhaps reinforces that. All of this is changing rapidly and a lot of the actual research on porn habits is both out-of-date and dubious in its methodology. I might be wrong. Still, it’s been the baseline of my thinking about VR porn for the last few years.
I’ve told you before, though, that I tend to view culture through the lens of porn and erotic art. Erotic art, in particular, is where we start to see meta trends, as expressed through art that’s about porn (and people enjoying porn) rather than just being porn. So what does it mean when we start to see erotic imagery of women pleasuring themselves while enjoying VR porn?
It might mean nothing. Even with detailed lists of the best VR porn sites at our fingertips, it would be a huge job trying to figure out who is watching, who is subscribing, who is paying, and who is getting off. Also, art that’s at all “meta” is perforce ambiguous. Who is to say that all these masturbating women are watching porn in their VR headsets? They might be watching something else entirely, like Smurf cartoons or classic music videos from the 1980s.
But no. We are the viewers and critics here, and thus one of our chief pleasures is the power of interpretation. We are empowered to say “I understand this to be an image about a woman viewing porn” and while anyone might disagree, no one has the power to declare us wrong.
So, what does the emergence of all this women-enjoying-VR-porn imagery tell us? Maybe art imitates life; maybe this is an emerging phenomenon, a thing that’s happening now. And since it’s sexy to imagine, it becomes the subject of erotic art. But we don’t assume that tentacle sex artwork heralds the arrival of tentacle beasts in our space-time continuum, so we must remain mindful that we might just be seeing the erotic projections of male artists, sharing their fantasies, in this as in all else. The male gaze, looking into the mirror of VR porn desire, and seeing… itself.
Did I say I tend to view culture through a porn lens? I did say that, but it doesn’t mean I necessarily understand what I see.

Today’s headline at The Virge focuses on the way that Oculus, the Facebook-owned leading manufacturer of virtual reality (VR) headsets, is forcing its users into the Facebook social media ecosystem, and appears perfectly willing to soft-brick its own hardware to punish the reluctant or unwilling:
You’ll Need a Facebook Account to Use Future Oculus Headsets.
Oculus will soon require all of its virtual reality headset users to sign up with a Facebook account.
…
Starting later this year, you’ll only be able to sign up for an Oculus account through Facebook. If you already have an account, you’ll be prompted to permanently merge your account. If you don’t, you’ll be able to use the headset normally until 2023, at which point official support will end. Old headsets using non-linked accounts will still work, but some games and apps may no longer function.
…
Facebook also says that all future unreleased Oculus devices will require a Facebook login, even if you’ve got a separate account already.
Yes, that’s a clear violation of our nation’s anti-trust laws. No, anti-trust enforcement isn’t really a thing these days, which is how they can get away with it. Moving on. Antitrust in tech is a fascinating subject, but it’s not the ErosBlog beat.
Pornocalypse? Now, that’s our beat. From the article:
The new changes apparently consolidate Facebook’s management of its platforms. A new privacy policy will be administered by Facebook itself, not the separate Facebook Technologies hardware subsidiary, and “Facebook will manage all decisions around use, processing, retention and sharing of your data.” Oculus will also adopt Facebook’s core community standards rather than use a separate code of conduct, and Facebook will add a new “VR-focused” section to its standards.
Emphasis added by me: “Oculus will also adopt Facebook’s core community standards.” Boom. Headshot. That’s the ballgame. #Pornocalypse comes for Oculus. It’s right there in the Facebook community standards:
The very first time I ever mentioned virtual reality porn on this blog was in 2016, when I quoted Mark Mann at The Walrus for the proposition that VR porn was a compelling use of virtual reality:
When it comes to porn, VR is so engaging that viewers “forget” it’s a simulation. The penis I saw through my headset, for example, seemed to rise from between my legs. It wasn’t an unnaturally large member, and the owner was caucasian, so it was believably my own. The model was life-size and more than life-like. It was so much like being alone in a room with another living, breathing human that my mind didn’t bother to contemplate the difference.
In a nutshell, that’s why porn has been a big driver of headset sales from the beginning. Porn is always a driver of new and expensive technologies, especially if you’re marketing the fancy new gadgets (and you always are) to well-off young tech-savvy men. And that’s why it’s always been a truism in tech that, if your system doesn’t have porn on it, your system is broken. In my 2013 The Pornocalypse Comes For Us All post, I quoted some 2008 words by Ethan Zuckerman that he attributed to his late-1990s experiences at Tripod, an early web hosting and prototypical social media company in what was called the “portal” space:
I’d offer the hypothesis that any sufficiently advanced read/write technology will get used for two purposes: pornography and activism. Porn is a weak test for the success of participatory media — it’s like tapping a mike and asking, “Is it on?” If you’re not getting porn in your system, it doesn’t work.
Porn has really worked well for Oculus/Facebook. The headset company had its origins in a successful 2012 Kickstarter, got bought by Facebook in 2014, and released its first consumer product in 2016. Thus, Facebook has been in complete control, throughout the product’s rise to prominence in the world of VR porn.
You might reasonably ask “What prominence?” So, let’s do a little experiment to assess that. Type “VR Porn” into your browser. As I write this, the first result is, no shock, a site called VRPorn.com. (They have, more than once, been ErosBlog advertisers.) One click (on “How to watch VR Porn”) takes you to their hardware page. Oculus products make up three of their ten supported platforms:
It’s the same old weary pornocalypse story. Tech companies (even ones like Facebook, which has #pornocalypse backed into its very bones) cheerfully allow porn during the initial stages of a new technology or social media project. Then, once the product reaches a certain stage of maturity, they decide it’s time to “go respectable” and push all the porn off the platform. Dance with the ones what brung ya? Hell no! We don’t even know those dirty perverts!
#Pornocalypse comes for us all. Today (with delayed/deferred rolling implementation stretching to 2023) it came for all the people who dropped large coin for an Oculus headset in the expectation of watching porn on it. Facebook says to you: “Sorry, suckers!”

When you take your first and shallowest glance at the phenomenon of virtual reality porn, you might conclude that it has only one purpose: getting off. Having orgasms. But I call that shallow thinking, because cataloging the deeper folds and wrinkles of human sexuality is a huge part of the ErosBlog mission. Everybody relevant to this discussion wants orgasms. The interesting question, from my point of view, is what does VR porn bring to the party?
Some of the standard “W” questions from journalism will help us explore the value of virtual reality porn. Who uses VR porn? What do they do with it? When and where do they use it? And why do they enjoy it? Since I’m not an actual journalist, I’m cheating here. I don’t remotely attempt to answer any of these questions. Instead, I’m just publishing illustrative bits of hentai porn showing imaginary people enjoying VR porn programming. But I suppose I should also acknowledge that we live in a world where “real” journalists are much more likely to publish ten thousand scare stories answering the question nobody asked: what are the risks of VR porn? There aren’t any such risks, of course. The closest I could come in my deep collection of dirty anime is this joke image that warns against losing track of your situational awareness. You can, apparently, have a surprisingly realistic encounter if you’re so lost in your VR porn, there under your headset, that you don’t notice someone sneaking into your bedroom:
Doubtless there are, at least in the realms of minoritarian fantasy, many non-traditional uses of VR porn. Here, it would seem, is a scenario that’s not primarily focused on the user’s pleasure. Apparently those shadowy gentlemen who control the world supply of human milk produced by unfortunate “hucows” have discovered that a constant stream of raunchy virtual porn keeps their captive producers happy, thereby increasing the production of black-market neo-dairy products:
Of course we already knew that horny young gentlemen with serious catgirl fetishes have to take extraordinary measures. It should come as no surprise that any plausible sex doll can become a catgirl if there’s sufficiently good catgirl porn playing inside the headset:
If we drop back for a moment to the idea that VR porn is just about getting off, there remains room for nuance. Does VR porn make orgasms easier, or does it make them better by enabling new masturbation routines? Maybe both, but strategies clearly differ. Nobody could doubt that this self-proclaimed vibrator slut would have gotten off with her wand vibrator even if she didn’t have her favorite porn flashing in her eyes, so we must assume it helps her cum harder, or perhaps faster:
Whereas this advanced practitioner appears to be exploring the semi-mythical practice of “thinking off” or achieving orgasm without touching herself. An AI-guided assortment of VR porn images carefully tailored to her psyche and fantasies seems to be helping her accomplish that tricky sexual business, which might have been totally impossible for her without the VR assistance:
As VR porn technology gets better and cheaper and more available, I’m eager to see how many of these hentai fantasies become part of everybody’s common sexual practice.

After what had been a pause of some long while I find myself looking again at virtual reality porn sites, and I have always had a soft spot in my heart for porn featuring the models and directorial styles of Eastern Europe. So I enjoyed today’s careful perusal of the VR porn offered by CzechVR.com. They offer more than 230 VR movies as part of a larger network that, with different niches counted, totals more than 500 VR porn movies:
These movies have trailers available for download in .mp4 format, plus a delightfully retro marketing feature that warms my rapidly-aging curmudgeonly heart: three high-quality promotional still photos to promote each movie. Many producers have been entirely phasing out stills, but as loyal ErosBlog readers know, I rely on them entirely; if a movie doesn’t have promo stills, I’ll almost never watch it, and it won’t be very likely to get promoted here, because I’m far too serious about controlling every pixel of what gets published on these pages to ever stream or embed somebody else’s promotional video clip. Thus, I purely love stills! Which leaves a warm fuzzy place in my heart for porn movie producers who continue to use them in marketing their movies. Yay for Czech VR.
Finding their precise VR porn movie you want may be a bit of an adventure, though. Although each of their movies has a pretty good text description, there’s no search box on the site that I can find. However, all the movies are tagged using tags from an assortment of perhaps 65 different ones. These tags let you narrow your selection; the tags specify for each movie different types of porno action, varying body types and breast sizes, age and ethnicity preferences, fetish activities performed, body hair and body art variations, and so forth. There’s also an alphabetical performer index if you are looking for a particular porn star. It’s a pretty comprehensive set of options!
For a long time I viewed VR porn as a sort of niche of its own, where we did not really ask questions like “how much content?” or “what quality is it?” because the miracle was the 3D immersion and the fact that there was any content at all. Sites like this are driving home to me the fact that VR porn has grown up, and now for a studio to be successful it’s all about having a broad and deep catalog of consistent high quality.
Czech VR displays logo buttons advertising headset support for Oculus, Vive, Windows Mixed Reality, GearVR, Daydream, Oculus Go, Playstation.VR, and the various smartphone-based systems. I imagine that you can find something on their list that will work with whatever VR viewing system you have.

After numerous posts in 2016 and 2017, developments on the virtual reality porn front have been slow here at ErosBlog in 2018. I still don’t have a quality high-tech VR headset, although I have finally had the chance to tinker with a few of the worst of the cheap ones that you basically just wrap around your phone. These are now starting to show up at local garage sales for next to nothing. But a real headset, like a Rift or a Vive? I keep thinking someone will send me one to review, but it hasn’t happened yet. Oh well. The day will come!
Meanwhile I remain interested in developments in VR porn, and in the sites that aggregate it for surfers and consumers. So I always welcome the opportunity to look in depth at another VR porn resource site like the one at Ultimate VR Porn. This is a slick-looking portal that combines trailers and teaser clips from all of the currently top-rated virtual reality porn movies, a ranked list of the best VR porn sites complete with the reviews that support that assertion that they are the best, and a detailed series of tech guides explaining how to set up all the leading VR porn devices. (Given that these are somewhat complicated devices, guides explaining how to get them plugged in and loaded with porn seem likely to be useful, especially given the way the #pornocalypse tends to keep porn hard to reach from official content and app stores.)
Any fool can throw together a list of VR porn sites, but I am always more interested in a good ranking that’s justified with reviews and user ratings. This catalog of the best vr porn sites appears to be at least somewhat data-driven:
One more new-to-me thing I noticed at the Ultimate VR Porn site is that the display of VR porn clips and trailers and teasers to people (like me) who are checking things out without a VR headset has been enormously standardized and improved, at least in an up-to-date Chrome browser. In 2016 when I first started looking at VR clips in a standard browser, they would often (but, confusingly, not always) appear as two side-by-side clips like some sort of 1890s stereogram you would hold up to a candle on a wooden stick. Talk about retro!
It’s different — by which I mean better — these days, though. Today they present themselves to our vision on the screen looking at first like a standard video clip, such as you would encounter at any tubesite or clipstore, only with the slight fuzziness that hints of three-dimensionality on a 3D television. But you-the-viewer can interact with the clip using your mouse; you can grab and pan the scene left, right, up, and down (somewhat similar to how you would look with head movements while wearing a headset) and zoom in or out using the scroll wheel. It’s not having a headset, but it does give you a fair way to interrogate the VR porn clip or trailer to see how it was shot and what you would get if you indeed were to buy the whole scene and were viewing it with a proper headset. This is an enormous improvement over the way sample clips worked just a year or two ago!

I’ll say right up front that the sci-fi sex comic The Game by Erenisch is rather explicitly rapey, as the Dofantasy comics usually are; but its exploration of virtual-reality sex machines is potentially of interest quite aside from whether you have any time for well-drawn misogynistic futuristic worlds where women are enslaved sex toys and men are, predictably, beastly about that. These are some panels about the double-penetrating “Mechafork” and the double-dicked virtual Alien Invader who powers it:
A drop-down selection box in the fictional erotic VR software (not shown here) indicates additional selections for “Orc Raider”, “Mutant Stallion”, “Radioactive Slime”, “Tentacle Monster”, “Zombie Rapist”, and “Vampire Thrall”. Phew!

There’s a great deal of excitement about virtual reality porn on display at VRPornMania, which is entirely appropriate for a site whose evident purpose for existing is to get you excited about virtual reality in general and about VR porn in particular. You don’t have a VR headset? They will tell you why you should get one, and where to look for it. Don’t have a clue where to start with VR at all? They will point you in the right direction. If nothing else, the site’s your one-stop shop for enthusiastic VR porn evangelism.
One thing that quickly made me laugh was a YouTube reaction video of people watching VR porn for the very first time. Not, you know, porn fans watching it, but nerdy people who don’t admit to liking porn in the first place. Hilarity ensues. Here, apparently, is the body language of a woman who doesn’t normally admit to watching porn, the first time you show her a vagina up close and personal in a virtual reality porno:
She’s all like, “Whoa, Nelly, back that thing up and get it out of my face!”
More seriously, a lot of the porn professionals among my readership will appreciate the site’s straight talk about the need to pay for your VR porn, given that the expense of making the stuff is such that genuinely “free” VR porn of any quality is close to non-existent:
There is almost no high-quality free VR porn. Free VR porn is extremely rare. [And] paying for porn is way easier than you imagined…
The recent wave of “free VR porn!” advertising hype is unpacked for consumers, with a frank discussion of the fact that people who go looking for “free” stuff are going to find nothing but very short trailers and a few non-commercial graphics of dubious quality. The takeaway message for consumers is very clear: paying for your VR porn is still the only way to get access to any of the best stuff that’s being made in this exciting new corner of the porn industry.
The site also includes a detailed blog that covers everything from VR games (including several Patreon-supported virtual reality interactive sex environments that sound promising) to sex toys (some of which have internet connectivity and/or teledildonics and interactivity features now being branded as “VR” to catch the current marketing wave) to highly-specialized VR camera and photography gear. I particularly enjoyed the announcement (not quite a review, although one is promised) of the OhRoma “smell mask” featuring thirty different programmable scent cartridges including the smells of “private parts” and “panties.” How do we know the long-promised VR future is finally arriving? We can smell it coming!

For several months now the noise around virtual-reality porn has been growing louder and louder in my inbox and on the porn-business social media feeds I see. Although market penetration on VR headsets is still short of what the porn companies selling these products would like it to be, headsets are on a lot of Christmas lists and everybody I’ve talked to thinks that if 2016 wasn’t quite the breakout year for VR as a ubiquitous consumer technology, 2017 almost certainly will be.
Meanwhile we are seeing development of robustly useful aggregation sites like the one at VR Porn, where they tell me their goal is to bring all the adult VR content from all the different VR porn studios together in one convenient place. They offer free short trailers and clips and the usual links for purchasing the full product. The trailers and sample stills are decently high-resolution and give you a good idea what you are getting, as in the case of this WankzVR video starring Marica Hase:
What really sets VRPorn.com apart is that they have also compiled an enormous catalog of free sex-themed VR downloads, including CGI animations, anime-type short movies, and free porn-game apps that run on the various VR platforms. It’s the first place I’ve seen that offers a well-curated and useful collection of adult VR free content to complement their paid VR porn offerings, and although the free stuff varies in quality as you would expect and is frequently short and/or fairly simple, some of it is visually very fine indeed, like this elf-girl riding the viewer cowgirl-style:
Remember up at the top of the post when I mentioned that VR headsets are on a lot of Christmas lists? I learned some more about that when I began to peruse the VRPorn.com blog, which focuses not just on the porn but includes updates about the burgeoning VR industry as a whole. According to the post Weekday VR Update: November 14, 2016, this is to be the first year when headsets will be discounted on Black Friday:
This is the first Black Friday where VR head mounted displays, such as the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive, will see some Black Friday love. The first of which is Best Buy, who plans to offer a $100 store credit when a consumer purchases an Oculus Rift head mounted display. Second, Microsoft will also be offering a $100 store gift card with the purchase of either an Oculus Rift or the HTC Vive through their Microsoft Store.
The blog at VRPorn.com may actually be one of the site’s more amazing assets. It’s not an afterthought or a parade of press releases; it’s a content-rich stream that includes things like this incredibly-detailed review of a third-party VR game being developed via Patreon that’s called VR Titties. The review is like 25 paragraphs long with dozens of screenshots, a level of detail that is perhaps necessary given the number of customization sliders in the game:
But my point here is that these guys are VR porn enthusiasts. Yes, they want to sell you some porn for your VR headset, but they are also obviously and genuinely interested in all the sexy things you can do with it. It’s the first site I’ve seen with such a useful mix of resources, and should be a regular stop for any VR afficionado who reads ErosBlog.

My post a couple of weeks ago about VR porn attracted a little bit of attention within the VR porn industry. Not too much attention — nobody has sent me a free headset yet! — but I did hear from the people at WankzVR. WankzVR is one of the biggest of the studios that are now going balls-to-the-wall producing point-of-view videos for the new VR headset display technologies. They are embracing this new format as if it’s going to be the Next Big Porn Thing, as indeed it might:
WankzVR has about sixty VR porn videos on offer, with true VR streaming so you don’t have to download first. In their VR videos, you the viewer enjoy a unique first-person view as the star of utterly classic porn scenarios such as “landlord to sorority girls who pay rent with pussy”, “employer of very accommodating French maid”, “bored suburban MILF’s lucky pool boy”, “happy owner of a very plausible Slave Leia” and even “the only man Daenerys Targaryen still dreams of finding in her bed.” That last is the plot of WankzVR’s Game of Moans, starring Elsa Jean as an oh-so-happy-to-see-you Daenerys:
No visit to WankzVR would be complete without checking out their page profiling all of the pornstars in their videos. That page proves at a glance that major adult stars like Elsa Jean are not unusual at WankzVR. The page — actually they need four pages to fit everybody in — is a festival of pretty young beautiful faces that you have seen before. More than any other VR studio I’ve looked at, WankzVR puts the talent we already love into their new-technology productions.
In case you’re still a bit unclear about the technology behind this wave of new VR porn and uncertain what the big deal about it might be, here’s how WankzVR describes it:
First, we capture video in Stereoscopic 3D using the best available technology. This means that we shoot each video with two separate camera rigs that are set up to mimic the difference between what each of your eyes would see if you were actually there. When you playback a WankzVR scene, we deliver one of these videos to your right eye and the other to your left. The result is that instead of seeing a flat image like you would on a computer screen, what you see in the video has depth, just like in real life.
Next, we shoot the video with a field of view that is much wider than a traditional video and in fact is wider that what can be displayed on a full screen at any one time. This means that when you are viewing the center of the video, there is more going on around you that you can’t actually see. Using the motion tracking technology built into today’s smart phones and VR headsets allows you to actually look around and see what is going on in the peripheral simply by looking left or right, up or down.
From the first time I ever sat in a truly giant IMAX theater with the huge screen that entirely filled my field of vision, I have been a fan of immersive video experiences. I really can’t wait to see what that’s like with eye tracking. As far as I know, nobody ever shot porn for or displayed porn in the IMAX format. Fortunately that’s not the case with headset-based VR technologies!

This post marks only the second mention on ErosBlog of a burgeoning new phenomenon: virtual reality porn. What I knew about VR porn the day before yesterday I can state in a few short bullets:
- VR porn tends to be an immersive, point-of-view experience using virtual reality headsets that are just now recently hitting the market;
- People who have seen VR porn — at least on the better gear — tend to rave endlessly about the high quality of the experience; and
- I don’t have a headset. (Hardware people, where are the ErosBlog review headsets???)
Despite my woeful lack of a headset, the VR porn people at Sex Like Real asked me to write about their site where they aggregate and distribute all the new VR sex movies from studios like Naughty America and BadoInk VR. In fact it looks to me as if they are trying to distribute the vast majority of the VR porn titles out there; their site lists 887 videos from at least a dozen studios.
Sex Like Real also provide data for a site that comprehensively lists all of the studios known to be making VR porn; there are more than thirty studios on the list, but a bunch of them are still in the experimental phase of offering just a few titles. The studios that are jumping on the VR porn bandwagon are some of the biggest in the industry and the porn talent they are using includes most of the hottest women working today. You can see for yourself, at this directory of more than 500 VR porn models where you’ll find many familiar names and faces.
And what about the hardware? You absolutely will need a headset of some kind, because the whole idea here is to provide imagery that fills your field of view and immerses you in the action. Supported headset platforms include Google Cardboard (which appears to be literally just an origami-cardboard viewing frame you can wrap around your smartphone while it’s running the appropriate app), the Samsung Gear headset that works with select Samsung smartphone models, the Oculus Rift headset (the Facebook-owned one that famously began as a Kickstarter), and the HTC Vibe (a headset that comes bundled with Steam’s VR offering for gamers). My understanding — which is probably so laughably inadequate and over-summarized that the tech fanboys won’t even bother to scream at me in my comments — is that the Oculus and Vibe are the most expensive and require serious Windows PC hardware to power them, while the Gear offering is currently sitting in the price/performance sweet spot, at least for people who already have the phones that can power it.
Sex Like Real offers both direct download of porn movie files as well as via their VR porn app. This impression of the viewing experience on the Gear should give you a flavor of what the virtual porn experience is, ah, shooting for:
The scenes are shot from the male POV (Point Of View). It’s like you’re sitting on the sofa and girls perform all the stuff. The level of their determination to please you and the interaction with the girls is what defines the viewing pleasure. The hot pornstar gives you a lapdance or some other kind of foreplay (to me those moments where among the hottest VR porn parts) then she goes down and gives you a blow job so you get that feeling like being blown. When it comes to actual intercourse you get to fuck one or more hot women. They will grind all over your cock, bounce in and out, and perform all sorts of sexual acrobatics while you just sit back and enjoy the ride. It’s an immersive experience where the girl does all the work.
What about POV porn for women? Don’t panic! Despite the regrettable “all about the menz” flavor of that one male reviewer’s prose, there actually is POV porn for women, and Sex Like Real carries it. Their site has a Female POV porn category with (currently) 34 movies. This one here is called Angelo Worships The Fuck Out Of Your Feet, which is no small thing in a world where some women will exchange blowjobs for foot rubs:

There’s a lengthy thread on Reddit about the Sex Like Real app as experienced with the Oculus Rift headset. Feedback seems generally very positive with a lot of “wow, it’s amazing!” type remarks. One thing that’s clear in that thread, though, is that VR porn (and all these headsets and apps) are still a bit rough around the edges; there’s much geekery on display about bitrates and resolutions and hotly-desired features not yet to be found. Another thing that’s clear is how fast things are developing; there are features people were requesting two months ago on Reddit that are currently visible and available on the Sex Like Real website today. Without hardware in my hands and porn filling my field of view, I can’t give you an ironclad opinion on just how ready all of this is for prime time. But I will say this: a lot of people are working very hard and iterating very fast. By the time VR headsets are as common as game consoles, there’s not going to be any shortage of VR porn to watch on them!

There’s a lengthy article on the current state of the porn industry here. The TLDR version: Mindgeek is still devouring the porn industry and spitting out the fragments of its well-sucked bones. However, there are a few words in the article about hopes for a VR revolution in porn, including the author’s experience of a VR porn demo:
Under fluorescent lights, a woman kneels in front of me and performs a blowjob. Her long brown hair tumbles around her thin shoulders and frames her turquoise eyes as she looks up.
…
When it comes to porn, VR is so engaging that viewers “forget” it’s a simulation. The penis I saw through my headset, for example, seemed to rise from between my legs. It wasn’t an unnaturally large member, and the owner was caucasian, so it was believably my own. The model was life-size and more than life-like. It was so much like being alone in a room with another living, breathing human that my mind didn’t bother to contemplate the difference. Even with the slightly fuzzy resolution of the prototype goggles, the sex act–the sucking, the kissing, the licking, the eye-contact–was intensely arousing. Did I get a hard-on? Yes.
